to accommodate your unique needs.

A retail investor who meets certain criteria may request to be treated as a Professional Client. This is a regulatory classification which defines investors that possess the experience and knowledge to make their own investment decisions and properly assess risks.

be closed until margin level gets above the minimum required level.

GCL Global Limited accounts: Positions will be closed once account reaches $50.

ST5 accounts: automatic stop out at 10% of account equity. The least profitable
positions will be closed first.

What should you know before opting-up to Professional classification?

Leverage Rate

The leverage rates in the table above are applicable. With increased leverage comes increased risk.

Negative balance protection

If the volatility in the market is too high, even after automatic liquidation of the positions, your account balance may go below 0. In such cases, the
company will apply Negative Balance Protection, for both Retail and Professional clients, and zero the account balance.

Knowledge and Experience

We presume professional clients possess market knowledge and experience relative of their status, and capable of making their own investment
decisions and understanding the risks involved.

Best Execution

Both Retail and Professional clients’ trades will be conducted in accordance with the Company’s Order Execution Policy.

Professional clients are not covered by the Investor Compensation Fund.

If you meet at least 2 of the criteria below, you may qualify for Elective Professional Status.

You have carried out transactions, in
significant size, on the relevant

FAQ

  • Do I need a GCL Global Limited account before I apply for a Professional Client?

    Yes, you must first open an account with us. If you do not have one, you can open one here.
  • Can my application be rejected?

    Yes. Your application is being reviewed based on the assertion you have made. For each criterion you chose you will need to provide appropriate evidence. In certain circumstances the fulfilment of two of the criteria may not be sufficient and a more thorough analysis of your expertise, experience and knowledge may be required.
  • What documents I need to provide?

    For each statement you make, out of the 3 criteria for eligibility for Elective Professional you must provide supporting documents as evidence
    of that statement.

    Criteria 1: You have carried out transactions, in significant size, on the relevant market at an average frequency of 10 per quarter over the
    previous four quarters.

    A supporting document is any document that shows your trades in similar instruments over the previous four quarters. Such document could
    be a Transaction History Statements for the previous four quarters with banks, brokers and/or other financial institutions.

    Criteria 2: The size of your financial instrument portfolio exceeds €500,000 (including cash deposits and financial instruments). A supporting document is any statement from a financial institution that shows your balance. Such document could be a current Account
    Statement from your brokers, banks, pension funds and/or other financial institutions depicting the size of your portfolio.

    If an investment portfolio contains leveraged positions, the net equity of the position(s) (i.e., the margin deposited plus any unrealised P&L) will
    be used to determine the size of the portfolio. The notional value of the financial instruments cannot be used, as this value does not reflect the
    actual size of the portfolio.

    Criteria 3: You work or have worked in the financial sector for at least one year in a professional position which requires knowledge of financial
    markets. A supporting document is any document that confirms or employment or qualifications in the financial sector related to financial markets. Such
    document could be a confirmation letter from your employer, Payslips, Employment agreement, Certificates for professional qualifications.

    Clients who have been trading on the relevant market for less than a year cannot fulfil the conditions.
